Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
I hope your family enjoyed a summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories. On behalf of our entire staff, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning and new families to Sea View Elementary. We cannot wait to see our students on Wednesday, August 19, as we begin another exciting year of learning, growth, and connection.
At Sea View, we believe every student deserves a school where they feel safe, valued, challenged, and inspired each day. Our dedicated staff has been working throughout the summer preparing classrooms, planning engaging learning experiences, and ensuring our campus is ready to welcome students back. We are excited to partner with you to make this a successful year for every child.
First Day & Daily Schedule
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19.
School begins each day at 8:15 a.m.
Our cafeteria opens at 7:50 a.m. for students arriving before school.
Dismissal on Wednesday, August 19, will be at 1:45 p.m.
Our regular dismissal schedule is:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2:45 p.m.
Wednesday (Early Release): 1:45 p.m.
Arriving on time each morning gives students the opportunity to begin their day with their classmates and establishes positive routines for the year ahead.
Class Placements
Many of you may remember that Sea View experienced significant staffing changes at the conclusion of last school year. While we are excited to welcome many familiar faces back to our campus, several teachers will be serving in new grade-level assignments this year.
When class placements were developed last spring, our highest priority was creating balanced classrooms where students would learn alongside positive peer groups. At that time, many staffing decisions across the district were still being finalized, so ensuring strong classroom communities was the one factor we could confidently establish.
Now that our team is complete, I could not be more excited about the outstanding educators who will be serving our students. I have the highest confidence in every member of our staff and firmly believe that every classroom at Sea View provides students with a caring, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
I also want families to understand an important logistical consideration regarding classroom placements. All of our classrooms are currently at, or above, their established enrollment caps. As a result, we do not have the flexibility to simply move a student from one classroom to another. A classroom change for one student would directly affect enrollment and classroom balance across the grade level and could require additional student moves.
For these reasons, requests for classroom changes will generally not be considered. The first several weeks of school are an important time for students to build relationships with their teacher and classmates, establish routines, and become comfortable in their new learning environment. We encourage families to give students time to get into the swing of the school year and allow those relationships and routines to develop before forming conclusions about a classroom placement.
If a significant circumstance arises that directly impacts a student's educational experience, we will carefully review the situation and work collaboratively with the family to determine the most appropriate next steps. However, requests based solely on teacher preference or a desire to be with specific classmates will not be accommodated.
Thank you for your trust, understanding, and partnership. I am confident in our teachers, confident in our classrooms, and confident that every student can have a successful, meaningful, and rewarding year in the classroom to which they have been assigned.

Looking Ahead
One of my greatest priorities as principal is building strong partnerships with our families. When schools and families work together, students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for entrusting us with your child each day. It is truly a privilege to serve the Sea View community.
